Dan Lynch Gems is dedicated to providing ethically sourced and precision cut gems and gem rough to the market.

Ethically Sourced

Whenever possible, rough gems are obtained directly from minors or dealers, with fair prices including all duties and taxes paid. We source gem rough overseas and through select contacts. We have been on annual buying trips to East Africa with the exception of this last fun year. We hope to be back in the fall of 2021. By buying directly in country and paying fair prices, we are helping the community at the source.

Precision Cut

Our gems are cut by Dan Lynch and other select faceters who have been chosen due to their expertise. None of our gems are faceted in overseas cutting factories. The results are high quality cut gems with a high degree of polish. Precision cut gems are cut to provide the most beautiful gem possible.

Charitable Giving

A portion of all sales from Dan Lynch Gems goes to support children’s charities around the world. We have worked to build a library at the Kitarini school for Masai children in Tanzania, contributed to adoption fundraisers, helped support an orphanage in Kenya, and also are supporters of GemLegacy.org.

About Dan

Dan Lynch Gems is owned by Dan Lynch, GIA Graduate Gemologist. Dan has been faceting gems for over 20 years and has been certified at the Master level in the United States Faceting Guild competition. Dan holds a degree in geology and has traveled extensively mining and purchasing gem rough both domestically and overseas. Dan is currently President of the USFG. Dan has been married to childhood sweetheart Kim for coming up on 38 years (summer 2021).

Our Policies

All items posted on Dan Lynch Gems are guaranteed to be natural unless otherwise described. Inclusions are called out when prominent. All finished gems are sold with a 7 day inspection period. Any stone may be returned within 7 days for a full refund, less shipping costs.
